Product Description

The BR-18HM series 1800°C muffle furnace represents the highest temperature class in the Brotherfurnace box furnace lineup. With a maximum operating temperature of 1800°C and a recommended working temperature of 1700°C, this ultra-high-temperature chamber furnace is designed for the most demanding sintering, densification, and refractory processing applications in materials science, ceramics engineering, and advanced manufacturing.

Equipped with premium-grade molybdenum disilicide (MoSi₂) heating elements and B-type thermocouple measurement, the BR-18HM operates in air atmosphere without the need for protective gas, simplifying process setup while achieving temperatures that rival specialized vacuum or atmosphere furnaces. The heavily insulated mullite fiber chamber and reinforced structural design ensure safe, stable performance across extended high-temperature cycles.

Product Highlights

Premium MoSi₂ Heating Elements for 1800°C Operation. High-grade MoSi₂ elements rated for continuous operation at 1800°C deliver consistent thermal output over long service intervals. The self-forming silica passivation layer provides inherent oxidation protection in air, eliminating the need for inert gas purging during normal operation.

B-Type Thermocouple for Extreme Temperature Accuracy B-type platinum-rhodium thermocouple ensures reliable, drift-resistant temperature measurement at 1700–1800°C, where standard thermocouple types are no longer suitable.

Heavily Insulated Chamber Construction. Increased fiber lining density and total insulation thickness (up to 250 mm) minimizes radiant heat losses at extreme operating temperatures, improving energy efficiency and reducing thermal stress on the furnace shell.

Reinforced Structural Roof Design The furnace roof is engineered to withstand sustained exposure to temperatures approaching 1800°C without deformation or collapse — a critical requirement for this temperature class.

50-Segment Programmable PID Control Supports complex multi-stage sintering profiles with precise ramp rate and soak time control, overheat alarm, and automatic shutdown.

Applications

Ultra-high-temperature ceramic sintering · Refractory material R&D · Zirconia, alumina, and magnesia densification · High-temperature alloy oxide processing · Advanced structural ceramics development · Specialty refractory testing
