Equipment Overview

At the upper boundary of laboratory atmosphere furnace capability, the Brother 1700°C box-type atmosphere furnace is built for research and processes that demand both extreme temperature and precise atmosphere control in the same instrument. Molybdenum disilicide (MoSi₂) heating elements sustain temperatures up to 1700°C with long-term stability, opening access to sintering conditions required for high-performance technical ceramics, refractory materials, and specialized inorganic compounds that cannot be processed at lower temperatures.

Despite its extreme temperature capability, the furnace retains the full sealed-chamber design, vacuum pre-purge workflow, and programmable control that characterize the entire Brother atmosphere furnace series — ensuring that process repeatability and atmosphere quality are never compromised at high temperature.

Key Features

  • Working temperature range RT to 1700°C (recommended working temp 1600°C)

  • MoSi₂ heating elements for sustained ultra-high-temperature operation

  • Alumina polycrystalline fiber chamber for contamination-free, uniform heating

  • Fully enclosed double-layer steel plate; withstands 0.02 MPa pressure

  • Reinforced with 12mm solid square steel on all sides; maintains structural integrity at high thermal load

  • Maximum vacuum up to –0.08 MPa

  • 0.2-level precision PID controller with 50-segment programming

  • Four hand-wheel locking door with silicone ring seal

Applications

Ultra-high-temperature ceramic sintering, refractory material processing, specialized inorganic compound synthesis, high-temperature material characterization, and advanced research requiring sustained temperatures above 1500°C.

Standard Parts

Furnace door, firebrick, high-temperature gloves, tongs, manual, two heating elements, rotary vane vacuum pump

Optional Upgrades
